Fakten
Der Geruchssinn ist bei der Geburt vollständig entwickelt und somit der älteste unserer 5 Sinne.
Der Mensch riecht mit 10-30 Mio. Riechzellen auf 5 cm Riechschleimhaut (Hund 250 Mio. / Aal 1 Mrd.)
Riechzellen sind mit äußerst feinen Härchen besetzte Sinneszellen.
Gerüche und Gefühle sind eng miteinander verbunden. Gerüche lösen oft Gefühle wie Angst, Ekeln oder Freude aus.
Man niest mit einer Geschwindigkeit von ca. 160 km/h.
Die Nase und die Nebenhöhlen produzieren täglich bis zu 1 L Schleim.
Ein Mensch kann 10.000 Gerüche unterscheiden und sich merken.
Der Geruchssinn schützt vor Gefahr.
In der Nase wird die Luft erwärmt und gereinigt, bevor sie in die Lunge kommt.
Warmes riecht stärker als Kaltes, Weiches intensiver als Hartes.
Die Riechzellen erneuern sich alle 4 Monate.

In der Mitte des Raums stehen 3 Tische mit kleinen Metalldosen. In jeder Dose steckt ein sommerlicher Geruch. Welche Düfte kannst du erkennen? Und welche davon erinnern Dich an den Sommer? Schließ die Augen und lass deiner Nase und Fantasie freien Lauf. Die Auflösung der Gerüche findest Du am Boden der Dosen in Schwarz-Schrift und Braille.
Halte deine Gedanken in Bilden und Worten fest, auf den Tischen findest Du Papier und Buntstifte. An der Ideen-Wand links neben der Eingangstür finden die Kunstwerke einen Platz. Gerne kannst Du deine Geschichten auch per Mail oder Audionachricht an info@dialogmuseum.de schicken.
Gegenüber der Eingangstür ist unsere Willkommens-Wand. Auf braunen Papierseiten sind große, bunte Buchstaben gemalt. Sie begrüßen die Gäste mit den Worten: „Wie riecht dein Sommer?“ In der Zeile darunter auf Englisch: „How does your summer smell?“ Und darunter in Braille-Schrift.

Sniff your way through our smell bar, discover summer smells and record your personal memories and thoughts about them. No matter whether you draw and write them on paper or send them by email or audio message to . We will collect your associations and complete our wall of ideas.

The sense smell is from birth totally developed and so it’s the oldest of our senses.
The human smells with 10-30 million smelling cells every 5 cm mueus membrane (Dogs 250 million / eels 1 billion).
Smelling cells are sensing smells with their fine hairs.
Smell can cause feeling like fear, disgust or happiness.
A person sneezes at rate of 160 km/h or 299 mi/hr.
The nose and the sinuses produce up to 1 liter of slime daily.
A person can remember and differentiate between 10.000 smells.
The sense of smell protects you from danger.
The air in the nose is heated and purified before reaching the lungs.
Warm smells are stronger than cold smells and ligudy are more intense than solid things.
Smelling cells replenish themselves every 4 month.
Take part
In the middle of the room are 3 tables with small metal cans. Each tin contains a summery smell. Which scents can you recognise? And which of them remind you of summer? Close your eyes and let your nose and imagination run free. You’ll find the resolution of the smells on the bottom of the cans in black and braille.
Record your thoughts in pictures and words; you will find paper and coloured pencils on the tables. The works of art find a place on the idea wall to the left of the entrance door. You are also welcome to send your stories by email or audio message to .
Opposite the entrance door is our welcome wall. Large, colourful letters are painted on brown paper pages. They greet the guests with the words: „Wie riecht dein Sommer?“ In the line below in English: „How does your summer smell?“ And below that in Braille.
