The sound room
After entering the foyer, follow the signage straight ahead and turn right at the T-junction to reach our sound room. On comfortable sound furniture, you will immerse yourself in absolute darkness in a surround sound installation that can be felt throughout your entire body. This can be booked spontaneously on site. However, you will not enter this room alone; a member of staff will accompany you. You can choose from a variety of sound pieces. Our colleagues at reception will be happy to help you with any questions.
The sound piece ‘069’ is an electronic sound journey through Frankfurt am Main. It was composed by MOMEM – Museum of Modern Electronic Music and lasts 12.5 minutes.
Internationally renowned artists and groups from the fields of theatre, film and music have composed 12 exclusive sound pieces for the KlangRaum. The project is called ‘Out of Sight – New Sound Art at the DIALOGMUSEUM’. The pieces are between 7 and 30 minutes long. More information can be found here.
We also use the sound room as a relaxation room. We offer fidget toys for neurodivergent visitors to help them cope with stress and calm down. We also provide earplugs, effervescent sugar tablets, sleep masks, cooling masks, massage rings for the fingers, neck pillows, cosy blankets and weighted blankets. Please speak to our colleagues at reception if you would like to use the room.
