Surroundings and appearance of the museum

First, a description of our museum from the outside. We are located in the basement of the VGF transport company at Frankfurt’s Hauptwache, on what is known as the B level. Several staircases lead down to the B level from street level. To help you find us easily, we have a video on our website that shows you the way. You can find this video on our website under Contact & Directions or here.

Arriving by public transport:
S-Bahn trains: Lines S1-S6, S8-S9 (Hauptwache stop)
The Hauptwache S-Bahn stop has a lift to the B level.
Underground trains: Lines U1/U2/U3, U6/U7 and U8 (Hauptwache stop).
Depending on the type of underground train used, there is a step (approx. 12-17 cm) between the platform and the underground train or level access.
The Hauptwache underground station has a lift to the B level.
The museum is accessible at ground level via the B level.
There is a lift from street level to the B level in Biebergasse between the ‘Wempel’ jeweller’s and the ‘Geox’ shoe shop. The lift has low controls for wheelchair users and raised, high-contrast buttons for visually impaired people. The door opening is 89 cm wide. An emergency call from the lift is confirmed visually and acoustically. Alternatively, stairs are available.

Since our museum is located in a railway station, many people frequently travel here.

The exterior of our museum is made of glass, so our visitors can see directly into the foyer and the room next to it. The glass doors feature large red lettering that reads ‘DIALOGMUSEUM’. There are three door handles here to enter the foyer. In front of one of these doors, the guidance system installed in front of the museum ends, leading us from the adjacent stairs and underground railway tracks.
