1. When do we get a discount?

Pupils up to the age of 13 pay the children’s price, pupils aged 14 and older pay a reduced price. Accompanying persons pay the children’s price. Workshops must be paid per person.

2. Why are only teachers allowed to book?

Since it is an educational event, only teachers are allowed to book tickets or workshops. We even need the confirmation of reservation signed by a teacher if the pupils are of age.

3. Why should we bring small change?

There is a bar at the end of the tour where you will have the possibility of sharing your experience with the others and your guide. As part of your experience, you can buy drinks and snacks and enjoy them in the darkness.

4. What can we buy in the bar?

You can buy drinks and candy in the bar.

5. How much are the non-alcoholic drinks?

They cost between 0,50€ and 2,00€.

6. Where can pupils take a lunch break?

The pupils can take a lunch break under supervision in our foyer.

7. Why does the DialogMuseum not ensure supervision?

For one thing, the teachers are responsible for supervising their pupils, and for another, we cannot offer any supervision due to organizational reasons.

8. Why do I have to pay even after rescinding the contract?

We only offer a limited number of tours. If guests do not cancel on time, the tours still take place with a fewer number of visitors. Therefore, we bear the costs of the lost revenues and you deny other people the possibility of visiting the exhibition. We are a social enterprise which lives off the admission fees. Profits are reinvested in the maintenance and creation of new workspaces for people with handicaps.

9. When do I receive my booking confirmation?

You will get a booking confirmation for bookings of 8 people or more directly after the reservation. The reservation is only valid after it has been reconfirmed by the guest.

10. What is your cancellation policy?

The booking may be cancelled or changed in writing until up to 20 days prior with no penalty. Cancellations made 20 days prior will incur a 50% cancellation fee. Cancellations made 5 days prior will not be refunded. The following applies to workshops: The minimum price must be paid five days prior to the workshop.

11. What is the “Invisible Friend”?

The Invisible Friend is a project of our support association. Sixth-graders are offered the possibility to take a diploma, which honors them as invisible friends for blind people. Participating is free and includes a tour in the darkness.

Frequently asked questions: Workshops

1. What is the educational workshop?

For schools and other groups, it is worth to visit a 45-minute educational workshop directly before or after the tour.  Our blind trainers lead the group through an interactive workshop designed to complete the exhibition experience and intensify understanding of the blind world.

2. Is teaching material available to complement the tour?

Yes, but only in German. “Das pädagogische Begleitheft” offers information on the topics blindness and visual impairment and contains worksheets for some grades. It can be purchased for 5€ at our shop or via the booking line with shipping costs of additional 4€.

3. Is the workshop also recommended for adult tour groups?

The workshop is relevant for people of any age who wish to learn more about the topic of living in the blind or visually impaired world.
